Due to scheduled maintenance (not the drought as incorrectly reported) the Oak Ridge Reservoir is currently drained.
The old Patterson-Hamburg Turnpike, submerged since the reservoirs creation in the 1890’s is now visible. It occasionally pokes up when the water drops enough, but this was an opportunity to actually see it up close. It’s in surprisingly good shape for it’s age and time under water.

Wind caused a few boats to get stuck in the sand.
Some DC-3’s did a flyover of the Hudson River this morning on their way to Europe for the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
Due to a beached whale, state parks were closed this weekend and the annual fireworks were moved from Liberty State Park to what I consider the superior waterfront location (it’s easier to get in/out on foot).
