Tasked in high school to find a current news article about South America. This is what I came up with.
I had too much time on my hands.
Microsoft is slowing pushing IE towards the point where it will no longer be available for anything but Longhorn. They announced the other day that there won’t be builds later than 6.0 SP1 for Windows, and the Mac side would not have new releases but would be supported “for the foreseeable future” (we all know what that means).
To me, this is the greatest news yet. Safari and Mozilla provide much better support than IE ever did. They are a far superior choice in browsers. It’s one less rendering agent that a mac webmaster has to support.
They claim that Office will still continue to be developed for the Mac, and there is already a new version in the works. Finally, Microsoft gets the idea, IE for Mac is crap. The Open source movement won as far as quality goes, long ago. What was lost is the PR war. And hopefully as Mac users learn about alternatives, their Windows friends will wake up as well.
I got around to modifying the “What’s playing” (left of the page). It now makes links out of the songs that have/are playing. Hopefully later today I will break it up so that the artist name becomes the search term (that should be much more accurate). Of course buying the song makes me some $$$, so by music!
Yes they are. I finally have selected a free CMS that will be implemented across MacVillage.net for now (and eventually on all other “Sub sites” of Accettura Media. This is great news, since it now clears the way for finally redoing the design for something more standards compliant and browser friendly. Time to put the creative hat on now.
Well, the big Apple news today, is ironically not about Apple, it’s about Quark, who finally finished up Quark Express, two years late.
Apple has a nice large ad on their homepage about it, pointing to this link:
http://www.apple.com/macosx/applications/quarkxpress/
But the big question, as the /. community asks is… Is this to late for Quark? Is there an audience left that hasn’t moved on?
I personally am of the opinion that it will need to be priced really good to sell, and it needs to be one heck of a solid reliable product. They can’t afford to have a buggy first OS X release like many other companies had. There is no time to rebound. That is, if they have time to take a first crack at the OS X market.
This article got me thinking. Who gets stuck with cleaning David’s genitalia? Is it sexual harassment if a women gets the job? Can a man sue if he is asked to do such a task? I know I wouldn’t want to be stuck on a scaffolding cleaning some marble genitalia. Perhaps that’s just me. Something about giant hard marble gonads make me think twice about cleaning. Can you contract an VD (the politically correct term for STD, meaning venereal disease)? Is your employer required to provide adequate protection?
You have to wonder about this guy. The FBI claims that he hates homosexuals, jews, abortions, and a whole long list of things. Now look at this photo:
That isn’t ironic is it? Especially considering he has (I believe) a Jewish lawyer, yet hates jews. He must be a deeply repressed homosexual jew.
Due to a server move at the end of April/early May, the blog was broke due to an inconsistency between the version of Berkley DB on the old and new host. Now running on mySQL, it’s back up and running!
My costume for “Beach Day” 2002 (Senior Year) School Decides “beach day” would be fun. Must follow school rules regarding dress code. Well, I printed these out and taped them to my school regulation clothing. Controversial, but fun.
