QuickTime 7 is out, Windows version “coming soon”. My Mac OS X Tiger package is in transit, so I won’t download the update for 10.3, I’ll just wait the week. Oh how great it looks. I can’t wait to play with all the new stuff. 😀

Don’t hold your breath. Quicktime 7 is now the most annoying program on my Mac. One great new features of QT7 is the way they’ve added all the Pro menu items to normal QT and disabled them meaning that 90% of the menu items are useless. Still no fullscreen playback which is jolly good: we wouldn’t want to make the Mac competitive with Windows 98 would we? I’ve downgraded to QT6.5 and changed VLC to be my MOV video player. Its already got more features than QT.
Sometimes the stubborness of Apple drives me mad. How come the Quicktime people have been able to get away with their “worse than Microsoft” tactics. I spend money on my Operating System which relies on Quicktime and then it nags me to spend more money on it! I can only hope QT dies as a format and we can all just use Windows Media Player which does gets the job done without begging for a few dollars.
