I’ve mentioned the Apple TV a few times before. One reason why I considered it to be mediocre is that it lacked 1080p, which lets face it is the likely future of TV. Seems that’s now changed as of the last software update. Awesome.

MacWorld SF 2008
Another year, another great day of news coverage. I’m obsessed with watching it evolve and monitor several sites throughout the keynote. As expected this was a pretty big one. I suspect this year will contain the most product announcements of any year for Apple. They have a lot of products due for a refresh and announcements expected. Even Steve himself said:
All of this in the first two weeks, and we’ve got fifty more weeks to go.
In all the keynotes I’ve followed, this was the most aggressive agenda. 2008 is going to rock for Apple products.
There’s Something In The Air
Apple’s hoisting up those really vague yet meaningful signs in preparation for the big announcements this week. According to AppleInsider they are putting signs up that read:
There’s something in the air
Sounds like a wireless announcement is the headliner. But that can mean many things:
- Updated iPhone (3G expected this year)
- New iPhone services (video rentals perhaps?)
- Apple TV upgrade (with wireless video rentals)
- Yet another new device?
It’s going to be a great week. I love this stuff.
Om Malik got to ask the new Joost CEO Mike Volpi a few questions. One really caught my eye:
OM: Is there a chance we will see Joost on AppleTV?
MV: We would love to put Joost on the Apple TV platform. We know we can make it run on any operating system.
Isn’t it great to know your app can run on any operating system? What an amazing platform 😉 .
