Silly tidbit: The modern day 7 train travels through the "Steinway Tunnel" from Manhattan to Long Island City is named after the company founder who encouraged it for trolly use. The company built a company town in LIC.

Steinway was also owned by my employer in the 70′s (along with Fender).
