You should search for the vendor and check the version. What about the “Unable to Detect Plugin Version� results. The Research links take me to lots of google results with questions and such, but no actual site where I can download the new Plugin’s version. Where can I get it from then? On Mozilla’s AMO? Or where?

Apple pushes the iTunes package pretty heavily. You can however download QuickTime on it's own, it's the second radio button when you visit <a href="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/" rel="nofollow">this page</a>.
