I've been meaning to put together a "Please, install anything but IE6!" page targeting end-users, possibly connected to the Alternative Browser Alliance (thanks for the nod, Leon!) but I haven't quite gotten around to it. There is the End6 campaign, but I can't bring myself to use their pop-up script. Conflicting principles.

@funTomas: good point. Though Acid3 will at least catch the DOM side of things. My guess is ECMA will improve since without it HTML 5 proves pretty worthless, which will just frustrate developers further.

@Leon: Yes there are. Only Browse Happy really targets end users, but none does a really good job of it. The goal is to encourage migration to modern browsers by [date].

There are already a couple of cross-browser campaigns. The longest running is (I think) AnyBrowser but the Alternative Browser Alliance and Browse Happy are the other two I know of (unless you count StopIE).

Not that it's what you're looking for, but Gecko is Gecko advocates for something very similar...

Well, in terms of HTML 5, MS will comply but they haven't mention ECMA compliance so I guess there's a catch.
