Flintstones meet the Winstons

Remember big tobacco NEVER marketed cigarettes to children.

Not surprisingly R.J. Reynolds is the same company behind Joe Camel.

Fantastic Firefox Flicks

Ok, this is by far my favorite thus far. I’ve now played it several times, and can’t stop laughing.

Wheee!

Wheee!

Google Calendar

Google Calendar seems to have now launched. Overall it’s a solid ajax friendly web app. Very good user interface, fast, sleek, all the typical stuff you’d expect in a Google service.

Though, when will we see “Google Sync” so we can use it with our client side program, PDA, Cell Phone, etc? Seems like until then, it’s just a toy. I don’t know about anyone else, but at least 50% of the time I use a calendar… it’s not in front of a computer.

Firefox Flicks

If your not doing so already, you may want to keep an eye on the Firefox Flicks Backstage blog. There’s a lot of cool stuff going on there and really interesting posts. I saw 3 of the flicks so far and they are awesome. Some real talent is taking part in this.

Definitely worth a read.

MSNBC Problems?

One of the biggest complaints by Firefox 1.5 users is that MSNBC has some issues. From what I’ve seen, it’s improved over the years, but there are still some strange things going on. I just found the following after hopping through a few pages (some box went over the news text).

MSNBC Misrendering

Some may remember in the past Microsoft accidentally had a bug and someone over there was able to fix it in about 2 days! Perhaps history can repeat itself. A few things requests here:

  1. Obviously, if you’re from Microsoft, and can pass along a note to the MSNBC webmasters, it would be appreciated. Feel free to contact me.
  2. That’s a pretty big list of issues. If anyone can consolidate into specific details the problems with MSNBC on Firefox, that would be awesome. Bonus points if you can even point to bad code.

At some point in the future, I hope to set things up so webmasters can easily monitor reports on their site (perhaps even email), and allow them to give us a contact, so we can let them know about issues even faster.

I have this feeling it’s somehow related to how/where ads are displayed on the page.

As always, help is appreciated.

iPod Vending Machine

I find it hard to believe an iPod vending machine will ever take off. I see a few things wrong with this:

  1. I can’t imagine what the insurance must be when you have a vending machine with hundreds of dollars in iPod and iPod related gear in a giant box. I’m pretty sure it can’t be good.
  2. How many would be willing to spend that type of money like that? Return policy?

Just strange.

Google Earth Spam

And the spamming of Google Earth begins. I guess it was only a matter of time.

3 years old

Just realized this blog is now 3 years old (as of a few days ago) with 930 posts.

And yes, posting has been very light lately, as I’ve been extremely busy, though I do expect things to ease up eventually.

Boot Camp

All I can say about this is WOW. Kinda makes me want to add an Intel Mac to my collection (though I think I would really want a tower with dual processor or something really beefy, rather than current models).

What I really wonder now is, why they don’t make Boot Camp so that you can boot from an infinite amount of OS’s including Linux? Hopefully that’s under way.

Either way, really cool, and makes me love Apple hardware even more.

Stupid Spammers

I’ve said before that I had a belief that spammers are stupid…. now I’ve got solid proof.
